The setting-up of a Green TIC policy in any organisation as a pre-requisite: the implementation of a deep analysis of all the existing infrastructure, equipment and services in terms of rationality and use efficiency as well as the analysis of existing alternatives for the energy consumption reduction both through their optimisation or through a change to new, more efficient ones or by combining the two options.

The consequence of this analysis must be the translation of all the information in a GreenTIC action plan, personalised according to the needs and budget possibilities of every organisation. It must take into account the cost/profit ratio of the investments and the energy savings, material resources and time that workers of the organisation must invest in the maintenance, repairing, programming and finding solutions for events in general.

The document is a result of the LIFE GreenTIC project and aims at being useful as a simple guide with the basic elements and steps so that any organisation can design their own GreenTIC action plan or strategy. It is not an implementation guidelines document, it is addressed to the awareness raising and information of public and private organisation on the basic elements that must face before they look for a specialized company or professional to implement it.
